3 Things to Know Before You Start
Share
New to Peptides?
You’re not alone. Peptides can be powerful, but starting out can feel intimidating, especially when you're switching from pre-filled syringes or doctor-managed dosing to doing it on your own.
Breathe. You don’t have to be a biochemist to do this safely.
Here are three things you need to know when starting with research peptides, plus what tools you'll need to make it simple.
1. What does it mean to reconstitute peptides?
Most peptides arrive in powder form. They need to be mixed with something called bacteriostatic water (BAC water) before you can draw a dose.
Think of the powder like concentrate. You’re adding the water to dissolve it into a usable liquid form.
✅ Hospira brand BAC water is the gold standard—trusted, sterile, and stable.
💡 It contains a tiny amount of benzyl alcohol, which prevents bacterial growth so your solution stays safe for longer (typically 28 days refrigerated).
Important: You don’t just “guess” how much to add. You need to know how many milligrams are in your vial (for example: 10mg, 30mg, etc.), and how much BAC water to add to reach the correct dosing concentration.

2. You need a few key tools to get started—here’s what’s in the box
Your peptide supply box should include everything except the peptide itself. Each item has a purpose. Here's what you need:
Item | What It Does |
---|---|
Reconstitution syringes (3mL) | Used to add BAC water into the vial with precision |
Injection syringes (1cc / insulin) | Used to draw and administer your exact dose |
Alcohol pads | Sterilize vials, tops, and injection sites |
Vial decapper | Removes the metal seal from your peptide vial cleanly and safely |
Reusable vial covers | Protect and reseal vials between uses—especially helpful when rotating peptides |
BAC Water (Hospira) | Used to reconstitute your peptide; always stored in the fridge after opening |
All these tools work together to keep your peptide clean, correctly mixed, and ready to dose.

3. You don’t have to do it all alone
This process is new—but it’s learnable. Most people feel overwhelmed at first, but with the right setup and a simple calculator (like the one we provide), you’ll quickly get the hang of:
- How much BAC water to add
- How many units to draw for your dose
- How to store and protect your peptides
Start small. Follow the steps. Trust your body—and your ability to learn this.
Still nervous? That’s okay. You’re building something powerful—for your health, your energy, your future. With the right tools, you’re not just starting peptides.
You’re taking control.
