Reconstituting Your Peptide: What to Know, What to Watch, and How to Do It Right
Before you reconstitute your peptide, it’s crucial to understand how the numbers work together—because mg, mL, units, and dose are not the same thing.
Here’s what each one means:
- mg (milligrams): The amount of peptide powder in the vial.
- mL (milliliters): The amount of BAC water you add to dissolve the powder.
- Units: The numbered markings on an insulin syringe (used to measure/draw your dose).
- Dose: The amount of peptide (in mg or mcg) you actually want to take.

👉 Use our calculator to figure out exactly how much BAC water to add—and how many units to draw for your desired dose.
Now Let’s Reconstitute
Peptides come in powder form and must be mixed with sterile water before you can use them. This process is called reconstitution—and you only need to do it once per vial.
Step-by-Step Instructions
✅ Step 1: Prep
- Wash your hands and clean your surface.
- Wipe the rubber stoppers of both the peptide vial and your BAC water with alcohol pads.
- If the peptide vial has a metal ring cap, you can pop it off with a decapper—do not remove the rubber seal.
✅ Step 2: Draw BAC Water
Use a 3mL reconstitution syringe (not an insulin syringe).
Draw the amount of BAC water you need based on your vial’s strength.
Here are some general examples:
Peptide Vial Strength | BAC Water to Add |
---|---|
10 mg | 1.0 mL |
20 mg | 2.0 mL |
30 mg | 3.0 mL |
40 mg | 4.0 mL |
We recommend Hospira brand BAC water for medical-grade safety and stability.
✅ Step 3: Inject the Water Gently
Insert the needle into the rubber stopper of the peptide vial at an angle.
Aim the stream along the inner glass wall, not directly onto the powder.
Go slow and steady. If the vial is vacuum-sealed, it may automatically pull in the water.
✅ Step 4: Swirl, Don’t Shake
Once all the water is in, gently swirl the vial until the powder fully dissolves.
Do not shake—peptides are delicate and shaking can damage their structure.
What to Look For:
✅ Solution should be completely clear
⚠️ If it stays cloudy or foamy, don’t use it
After Reconstitution:
- Store in the refrigerator
- Use within 28 days
- Always wipe the top with alcohol before drawing a dose
Peptide reconstitution may feel overwhelming at first—but once you understand how mg, mL, units, and dose connect, it becomes second nature. Take it slow. Trust the process. You’ve got this.
